The Ore mountains stretches 130 km in length at north part of west Bohemia, along its ridge line. On the German side it gradually declines, on the internal side it drops off in a steep slope. On the ridge section are abundant peat bogs with bog pine growth.

The Ore Mountains is much sought after area for downhill and cross-country skiers. For this reason, all tourist services are at corresponding level. They provide excellent conditions for downhill skiing. For cross-country skiers, they offer lovely ground with possibilities for all day tours. Well-known Skimagistrale, built in co-operation with the German side, is bound to a complex of ski trails on both sides. With its profile is the Ore mountains ideal for biking from spring to late autumn.
